Happy New Year lovely blogger folk,
How was your Christmas tide? Ours was lovely, although this year I wasn't feeling particularly festive in the run up. As much as I tried due to things that have happened over the course of the past 6months, I was riddled with sadness up until Christmas Eve, when we attended Christingle at our local church. Something about all the children holding their Christingle whilst singing Silent Night, with all the lights down in our gorgeous village church I couldn't help but get this great whoosh of Christmas spirit!
After Christingle I went on to meet some friends at a local pub to exchange secret santa gifts, swiftly popped into to see another on my home. Then I dived into the madness that is settling two four year old's for bed on Christmas Eve.. we shall say no more!
We spent our Christmas morning opening fabulous gifts and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing people actually like the presents I picked for them! We then went to Mum's where we were spoilt some more, and we spoilt some more people too. Mum and Stepdaddy Nigey cooked us an amazing lunch, then we spent the afternoon messing whilst feeling genuinely blessed.
On Boxing Day after a swift tidy up (I shoved everything in the bedroom or into my Monica cupboard under the stairs) everyone came upto our house, including the guest of honour Matt's lovely Grandma and my bestie whose back from uni for Christmas!
We stayed in on New Years Eve, then went to my lovely M.I.L's for a buffet on New Years Day, I ate way too much and I still feel sick now. Oops.
Now whilst I'm not at all religious, I feel that going to Christingle reminded I have a lot to be grateful for, I'm not the easiest person at times but to be surrounded by friends new and old, my gorgeous children, my Matt and our families I just can't help but feel very blessed this New Year.
I really hope you all had a fabulous time too, as always please leave me a comment and thankyou so much for reading. Please feel free to +1 and subscribe!
Until next time,
'The Average Mum.' x
